This morning I was guided to visit a church for meditation and prayer. We’re new to the area so I looked online for a place that had the right feel to it.
We were getting ready to leave and I glanced over at a statue of the Archangel Gabriel that sits on my bookshelf. Tongue-in-cheek I said, “How come you couldn’t find a church with the name Gabriel in it for me, huh?”
Gabriel is the messenger angel and considered the angel of those who communicate…such as writers.
We parked across from the church and as we approached it, I looked over the area.
“Oh my God, it’s Gabriel!”
Puzzled, my family didn’t understand why I was laughing.
They hadn’t been aware of my remark to the angelic statue.
Across from the church was a statue of an angel blowing a trumpet… The Archangel Gabriel.
“Okay, Gabriel, I got it. Your name isn’t on the church but you’re here.”
When we were leaving, I turned and looked at the statue of the archangel with the trumpet.
“Very cool.”
As we drove home I pondered the incident, smiling at how the angels have a sense of humor even as they’re making a point.
At that moment the logo on the side of a van jumped out at me as we drove by.
Raphael.
Archangel Raphael is the healer angel and now, in addition to being a writer, I am a holistic healer.
Yeah, I got the message…
Update: We just got home from running errands. While sitting in traffic on our way to a wine shop, I pondered earlier events and mentally thanked Gabriel for the lift of my mood. I looked in the lane next to us and saw a van with two windows in the back.
On the left window was the question Need a lift? On the right? A van with wings.
It was a courtesy shuttle for a rental car agency.
I ran in the wine store and went over to see if they carried Gainey merlot. They didn’t, so I mentally said “Okay guys, if you want me to try something new, show me.”
I turned around and across the aisle was a bottle of petite syrah. The label?
Angels’ Secret
Yep, I bought a bottle.
