For some time I’ve been aware of a relationship between EMF Sensitivity and Psychic abilities. As I write in Riding the Waves: Diagnosing, Treating, and Living with EMF Sensitivity, problematic electromagnetic frequencies block my psychic abilities. When I deal with those problematic requencies, my abilities return. Continued use of the remedies appears to actually strengthen them. At least, for me.
Although I’m a natural psychic, I do study the subject and have taken training (Silva Method). I just finished Russell Targ’s The Reality of ESP: A Physicist’s Proof of Psychic Ablities, and while I thoroughly enjoyed the book, I do not agree with his conclusions that psychic energy is not electromagnetic energy.
I can understand how he came to his conclusions. However, as Russell states throughout the book, ESP doesn’t live inside a laboratory, to be put on display using methods that his contemporary, Ingo Swann pointed out, were developed in the late 19th century by men under the age of 25.
Ingo was talking about the supposed scientific method, incidentally.
What’s measured in a lab doesn’t necessarily translate to life outside of it. Additionally, it’s well established that the outcomes of experiments are affected by those who are conducting them. ESP lives outside the lab in numerous environments complete with anomalies. In other words, there is always a but in there somewhere.
I know they went to great lengths to conduct experiments where the researchers would not affect the outcome but how can you know if you were successful if you achieved the outcome the researchers were hoping for?
I also have a scientific basis for disagreeing. Psi is energy. It radiates out from the source. Energy that radiates is measured as particles or waves. In fact, some members of IRVA have measured this frequency just as Jose Silva did, at 7Hz, or the alpha brain frequency. IRVA researchers realized this resonates with the Schumann Resonance, which offers further proof that we have a tightly integrated relationship with our environment.
Dr. Michael Persinger has been able to induce paranormal experiences by manipulating brain waves via his “god helmet”. Again, this suggests that Psi energy is indeed electromagnetic in nature. He also studied the relationship between geology and paranormal events.
I go a bit further and propose my own theory on the relationship between EMFs and the paranormal in both Riding the Waves and Angels and Engineers.
Frequencies can be affected by other frequencies. Russell suggests that because psychic energy cannot be blocked by various metals, this proves that the psychic energy has no electromagnetic properties. Psychic energy can be blocked…perhaps not by metals but by other frequencies. Additionally, these energies can be measured in Hz.
Actually, a very interesting relationship between Psi energy and metals can be read about in both Riding the Waves and in Lynne McTaggart’s The Intention Experiment.
As technology advances and we find new ways to measure and analyze, we need to be careful to remember that reality does not live only inside a laboratory. Personal experience must be counted as a data point, even when it is utterly unique from person to person.
