I recently read that a maker of drone technology had been contacted by someone related to reality TV, inquiring as to whether the drones could be used to fly reconnaissance in the desert night, the aim being to catch ghosts on film. I find it amusing that people seem to think spirits are somehow like animals that can be snuck up on, unawares. That if you sit in a blind long enough, or wait patiently on the African Savannah, you can get them when they least expect it.
I have never encountered a human spirit who hadn’t retained human characteristics, including intelligence. They aren’t senseless confused blobs floating in the atomsphere, susceptible to electronic traps set by would be ghost hunters. As I said, we’re not talking about animals.
Two psychic sensitives can be standing in the same place and yet only one may be in contact with a spirit. A deceased individual may contact and/or appear to certain members of the family but not others. It has nothing to do with being privileged, either. Some individuals are simply more capable of detecting subtle energies than others. In many cases, someone may actually be getting information from a deceased loved one but they have no idea.
A good friend of mine was telling me that she kept hearing a certain song that reminded her of someone very dear to her who had passed on. In one instance, she said, “We were just talking about her and all of a sudden, that song came on.”
I said, “She’s letting you know she’s okay. You don’t need to worry about her.”
Sometimes ghosts want you to know they are there but they don’t necessarily want to talk. Last night, I had been in bed for about ten minutes, when the bed was jolted. I knew from fairly recent experience, and as I detail in Angels and Engineers, this is one of the more direct ways a spirit lets me know they are present.
I waited for the spirit to show him or herself. Nothing happened so I began to replay the event in my mind. I’d definitely felt it. As I was confirming that, the bed jolted again. We are not in earthquake country, so I knew that wasn’t it. As I mentally considered whether or not this was really a spirit, given I hadn’t seen them, the bed jolted again, harder.
“Okay,” I said, “I get you’re there. Why won’t you show yourself?”
No answer.
However, I did have a rather interesting experience shortly after I will write about in another post. My point is that this spirit made its presence known but then elected not to show him or herself. That doesn’t mean they didn’t continue to communicate – but again – that is for another post.
This one is to explain that the spirits possess intelligence and will. They appear if they wish and keep silent if they wish. They have their own motivations. If they’re camera shy? I wouldn’t hold my breath for a photo op.
