Asking God, angels, etc

Even though I have had paranormal experiences throughout my life, I still find myself doubting, and while not always during times of despair, it’s easy during such times to wonder if God or angels or other spiritual help exists and/or if they care.

I have been going through an incredible amount of stress recently, and in the last few days have felt particularly low.  I wasn’t considering whether or not I had been abandoned by God or angels.  I was just going about my daily life and trying to get past this rough patch the best I can.

Unsolicited help.  I was in a bookstore the other day and while looking for a copy of The Visualization Workbook by Shakti Gawain, saw a book on angels.  I picked it up and flipped through it, but decided it wasn’t what I was looking for.  As I set the book back on the shelf, I idly wondered if the angels even cared anymore.  They’d made a rather dramatic appearance in my life years ago, but nothing since.

On the way home that evening I was perusing the news on my phone.

Yes, I was a passenger.  I do not text and drive or other dangerous habits with phones..

On the front page of the website I was looking at was an article about an angel who had appeared, performed a miracle, and then vanished.

I smiled, realizing I’d been given a message.  The angels are real and they care.

That night, I was feeling down about a specific issue and wondered if I should withdraw from a certain activity.  Within seconds of that thought, I heard God’s voice saying, “No!  Do not do that!  You’ve worked so hard!”

I have heard God’s voice periodically and had no reason to doubt.  On the surface.  However, within a day I was wondering if I’d imagined that voice and the message not to give up.

Solicited help.  Last night I had basically decided to give up.  I thought, “God, if You disagree with my decision, then I need You to tell me in a very specific way.  A way that I will have no doubt understanding.”

About a half hour later I picked up my kindle and looked over the library.  I selected a book I had started months ago but put aside.  I was surprised when the table of contents appeared.

I’d been in the middle of the story so the book should have opened to where I left off.  Kindle technology is excellent when it comes to keeping track of where a reader left off.

I randomly selected a chapter and began reading.  It immediately became clear that God did not agree with my decision.  The very direct words left absolutely no doubt I had been answered.

I read the passage to my husband and said “Kind of in your face, isn’t it?”

I don’t go around asking God to prove Himself by showing me signs.  I don’t see hidden meanings in everything.  However, there is no doubt in my mind that the events of the past few days were serendipitously timed to get a specific message to me at this difficult time.

It may be worth your time to seek assistance by asking and then being open to the possible forms an answer might take.
